It’s my final day in Korea, and I woke up with a congested nose and a headache.
I believe I’ve reached my limit with Korea and winter travels. Fafa seems to share the same sentiment.
This morning, I told him I don’t envision Korea as a holiday destination again. Perhaps a lengthy stopover, but not as the main holiday. Surprisingly, he agreed.
This visit to Korea has proven more challenging to embrace than a decade ago. It could be the -22-degree weather, or maybe it’s because both of us kept falling ill. Perhaps Japan has forever spoiled us, or it might be the encounter with the taxi driver who yelled at us. It could even be the flu talking. IDK.
I’m eager to return home to Melbourne, to the familiarities, to comfy clothes, and the warmth (I can’t believe I’m expressing a longing for Melbourne warmth).
Still, we have 11 hours left in Seoul, with not much planned.
Maybe indulge in some Soju reading and Dalgona Coffee sipping, embracing the local culture one last time. But first, let me relish our last morning in this splendid RYSE hotel room before transforming into a wintertime bird watcher and checking out.
