Do Singaporeans Eat Cross-Cuisine Enough?

1 min read

Last night, when we had Chicken Rice at Fafa’s favorite place—the Sin Swee Kee Chicken Rice—near Raffles Hotel, I noticed we were the only brown people in there.

And it was the same when we walked around Chinatown after a meal of spicy Hunan cuisine.

It got me thinking: the cuisine assimilation in Singapore is not as deep as I thought it was.

Singaporeans don’t cross-cuisine as much as I blatantly assumed. Well, even this one is an assumption I guess.
