Shibuya Crossing Tokyo Among Sea Of Strangers

Visiting Shibuya means walking on the iconic Shibuya crossing. The world’s busiest pedestrian crossing, the Shibuya crossing is a quirky thing to tick off of the Tokyo travel list. I expected to see some weird shenanigans while walking on the Shibuya crossing. But instead, rushing among thousands of strangers, I felt overwhelmed.

I chalked it out as a dehydration symptom and stopped at the famous Shibuya Starbucks at the junction. Well caffeinated and trying my best to keep my calm, I roamed around the forever hectic Shibuya. I also did a little shopping while ignoring that I had already passed the luggage weight limit for our flight, including going inside the Disney store again.

Shopping Near the Shibuya Crossing

Though not as famous as Ginza, Shibuya is also known as a shopping district in Tokyo, Japan. I went to an electronics store to check out the Instax Wide Camera. Ultimately, I didn’t get it because the price was three times my budget. It was a wrong move for me not to do proper research or funding on the camera before visiting Japan.

A couple of hours in Shibuya, my T-shirt was drenched with sweats due to Tokyo’s unapologetic summer air, so I stopped at H&M to buy the thinnest T-shirt and changed into it immediately.

After that, I got inside Muji. WOW! I have been to Muji before, both in Japan and outside of Japan. But this particular Muji was huge, with many sections. It’s filled with stuff I didn’t know I needed until I saw it. My favourite was the Muji On The Go and Muji Yourself. So you guys, we have to Muji ourselves.

After making another unaffordable dent on my credit card, I stepped out for lunch. I chose eel to fend off the sluggish feeling due to the summer heat and celebrate Doyo Ushi no Hi, aka the Unagi day, a few days earlier. I also silently vowed to myself to never visit Tokyo, especially not anywhere near the Shibuya crossing, during the summer season again.
