Jakarta Quarantine Diary: Day 4

2 mins read

I am writing from the fourth day of isolation from room 1819, Ritz Carlton, South Jakarta. I have passed the mid-point of the Quarantine. Is it weird that I am a bit bummed about it? Yes, I missed my parents and can’t wait to hug them, but I could also use a bit more me-time, especially in this controlled-slash-limited environment.

7 AM – Bakmi Goreng, Empal Balado, Spring Roll, Sambal, Crackers, Danish, Soft Roll, Yoghurt, OJ, Coffee and Aqua with a side of extra Chilli Paste

It’s 7:48 AM. here, but it’s not technically morning for me since I have been up since 2:33 AM. when I panicked and woke up to my alarm that had gone off at just 2:30 AM. I started working at 6 AM, so this is technically my morning tea time, but instead, I am having brekkie.

10 AM Pick Me Up Coffee

I am always thinking, plugged, and connected with a never-ending todo-list, but my tasks, capacity and wants are limited in this quarantine room. Am I going cray-cray??

Dinner today is not good; maybe it’s a good thing, so I don’t feel too comfortable chasing this elusive me-time.
