I am on the tail end of the Japan trip, having arrived with the Narita Express a week ago and now ending up in the Narita Skyliner. Tagging along with me inside this train are a can of Boss coffee, two brown aunties, and three suitcases.
This is the first Boss I purchased on this trip if you can believe it!
They are either not promoting it as much on vending machines, or my attention and outlook in Japan differ when my Amma is around.
I thought this Narita Skyliner was an express train to Narita, but there have been stops. That’s fine, though; we have plenty of time.
The Boss tasted good, but the coldness is gone—or maybe it’s always better to drink a hot can of Boss coffee in winter. One of the memories that comes back is buying a hot Boss can near the Skytree vending machine before semi-running to the hotel, relishing the falling snow.
Speaking of hot drinks, the aunties were immensely amused by the hot drinks section in the supermarket. Once introduced, they made it their mission to find them every day. They even bought a hot water bottle from there, no matter if it was 38° out here or if we were only 5 minutes away from the hotel, where they could heat water to their heart’s content. (And they did—in the hotel, there is an endless water kettle boiling section.)
Perima and Amma pack at least five empty hot water bottles each. I don’t know what they are going to do with them.
I am bummed that I didn’t get to try Ebimaru Ramen, but I am still optimistic that I might get it at the airport. Once we pass the immigrant, I plan to zone out and let Amma take control.
I am glad I got to do this Japan trip with Amma.
