Some time ago, Fafa asked me, “Ready for Kumano Kodo?”.
And these days, I have been asking myself the same question.
Am I ready to embrace the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage?
I am excited, and I am a bit scared, too- but overall I want to say yes. Yes, I am ready.
I am ready because I am always ready. I might not be fully 100% ready, but who would be anyway? But I will be ready enough, mostly mentally.
I have been chanting “yes, I am ready” these days. Initially to answer the above question that keeps popping into my mind, later as a meditative mantra.
I said it when I started packing, I said it when I came home with discounted hiking shoes. Yes, I am a person who owns a pair of hiking shoes now, and that itself is a good enough indication that I am ready.
I am ready for Kumano Kodo.
