Today is our last day in the old office in Katong, Singapore. Although I am glad we are moving to the city area (hello, Concourse!), I can’t help feeling a bit bummed about leaving Katong.
I started my morning with Nasi Lemak breakfast at Kartika, the Indonesian Restaurant opposite the old office. They know me so well that I had to pay $2.80 and get the food plus teh-o (tea without milk). The tea was exactly the way my Amma makes it back home.
Then my colleagues and I had sisig for lunch at the Filipino restaurant opposite the old office building. Again, it’s another favourite.
I closed the day with two chicken paos from 7-11 nearby and a gel manicure session at the Parkway Parade Mall behind.
If I had more time, I’d have squeezed in another visit to Sri Senpaga Vinayagar Temple, the food court, and the corner restaurant that serves fois gras.
I am going to Miss you, Katong. Hope the next resident keeps you well and loved.
