5 AM – Coffee
Not doing much work today. My mind is elsewhere. My thoughts are scattered. I think! I didn’t bring enough clothes for my time here; oddly enough, I like it. I didn’t even bring a pair of jeans—what’s going on? Did I pack this way for a reason? I miss Fafa. I miss my personal laptop. I don’t miss Melbourne at all.

Dessert
It’s weird how things trigger memories. I watched Adam Liaw’s Destination Flavour Japan, which was filmed at Lake Akan, and he talked about Ainu Cuisine. I’ve eaten Ainu food when we were in Lake Akan. I also learned about the Ainu people long ago in school. If there’s one thing I love and miss from school, it’s the anthropology, history, and geography class. It opened a whole world for me, and I have my teachers, Pak Paulus and Pak Anthony, to thank for igniting my love for people, places, traditions, and culture.
