I went to the Emerging Writers Festival this weekend. It has been my dream to go to this event for the longest time.
Unfortunately, I missed the beginning part, the one I wanted the most — the 5×5 section. Being not a morning person is a curse of some kind! I need to be more and more disciplined. That’s precisely what the author said when she talked about a perfect day to write.
A perfect day for writing is the day you write, and it has to be every day.
It felt like she was talking to me directly when she said that.
To make up for my laziness, I decided to stay until the very end. There was a social justice session that I thought I would not like but ended up enjoying it. The last session was moderated by an arrogant person, so much so that I had to walk out mid-session.
During the lunch break, I browsed the library’s bookshop. I found the books written by authors I sat a few feet from today. They seemed like one of us, but they had a book or more under their name.
