With No Love in Dubai international Airport

šŸ“Travel Diary Entry: Right above Dubai International Airport
Leg 3: EK 149 Dubai āœˆļø Amsterdam

We just left Dubai International Airport, officially embarking on the third and final leg of our flight to kick off our seven-country trip!

I’m not tired, but I’m so ready to get off this flight.
Safely, of course… in case you’re listening, Universe.

Still questioning my decision not to pack my trusty hoodie. Let’s see if I’ll regret that in Helsinki.

I’ve already binge-watched all the movies and TV shows I had queued. Pretty sure I went through, like, 20 found-footage films on YouTube. Mental note: download a new batch for the flights home. But that’s a future me problem.

Journal writing is going well—small wins.

Somewhere between Singapore and Dubai, our backyard neighbor called. They said they wanted to cut our backyard tree.

F* no, mate.**

Okay, confession: I am just slightly tired but don’t want to admit it.

Also had a small tiff with Fafa about him already dreading tomorrow’s food tour (???). We haven’t even landed yet!

And let me tell you—not thrilled with the TSA lady who checked my ticket. She looked me dead in the eye and asked, ā€œWhat’s your purpose for going to Amsterdam?ā€

Excuse me?? Why does a TSA officer need to ask that?

Even if it’s technically within the rules, I still get startled.

Then, she assumed I lived in Dubai.

ā€œWhat’s the PURPOSE OF YOUR TRIP??ā€
Ma’am, relax. I’m just passing through. Also, you areĀ notĀ an immigration officer.

I simply replied, ā€œTravel,ā€ and kept my mouth shut until she waved me through.

Side note: Fafa said he’s not impressed with Dubai International Airport. Weird, because I also remember it being way nicer the last time. Maybe we were in a different wing?

They’ve just passed out the menu. I’m going with Multigrain Quinoa, Beef RagoĆ»t, and Vanilla Profiteroles.

(Manifesting decent airplane food šŸ™)

Before we settled in, I asked Fafa if he had anything to say about our trip so far.

He said, and I quote: ā€œI’m delighted it’s the last flight, and I can’t wait for Amsterdam—with you.ā€ 🄹
