Once we were full and content after the best meal at Warung Nyoman, we spent the rest of the day exploring Nusa Lembongan.
We hopped back on our bikes and rode further into the island. The landscape became drier as we passed by mangrove forests. Skipping Mushroom Bay, we stopped at the bridge connecting Nusa Lembongan with Nusa Ceningan. After taking some touristy photographs on the bridge, we headed down to Dream Beach.
Dream Beach is quiet and secluded, so it wasn’t surprising to find nobody else there except us. The water and its white sandy beach were visible from a cliff along the beach’s path. The water was much colder than where we had jumped in the morning, and the waves were not friendly. Nevertheless, we had childlike fun running around, yelling, and playfully throwing wet sand at each other.
On the cliff, there was a café where we finally sat for hours, just being ourselves—chit-chatting and sipping on local cocktails. Nearby, there was a villa with an infinity swimming pool overlooking the beach from the top. AMAZING.
Nusa Lembongan is an island of friendly locals, seaweed farming, and virgin beaches.
We returned to Bali before dark.
Jik and I made a pact to come back here, just the two of us, to get lost in good books, eat only seafood, drink lots of beers, and go home with a sunburn.
