Dōtonbori might be the neighbourhood in Japan where I have eaten most, even compared to the relatively more famous ones in Tokyo, such as Shibuya or Shinjuku.
Located in the centre of Osaka city, Dōtonbori is the best place to eat, shop, and people-watch.
You can do practically endless things here, but the best part of Dōtonbori is the food. From slurping the best ramen (the 24/7 Kinryu Ramen) standing up to enjoying breakfast in the Hawaiian cafe overlooking the canal. From daring yourself to eat the fugu fish served by an experienced Japanese chef to walking around while munching bbq crab meat freshly on a stick. From sipping Sakura tea latte in Tatsuya Starbucks to strolling the streets decorated with an abundance of stalls selling delicious Takoyaki balls.
And today, we did exactly that. If I ever move to Osaka, Dōtonbori is the neighbourhood I would live in or be near.
