The Three Room D’Angkor Boutique Villa is located in the city area but not on the main road. You have to walk into a small lane for a couple of minutes. From the outside, it looks like a house with a big gate. There are only three rooms inside. It felt more like a guest house than a hotel, but who cares? It’s the best-valued hotel I have ever stayed at.
The room is enormous. It has two bathrooms, a bathtub area, a vast makeup mirror, a bedroom, a living room, a study corner, and a terrace overlooking the swimming pool. It felt like a honeymooner’s dream.
The bathtub is outside the bathroom, and from there, you can even watch TV. Tell me, what more can we ask for in this life? I spent my evenings there, soaking in my soapy dirt and watching CSI reruns (it wasn’t a good choice; I couldn’t completely relax while trying to third-handily solve the murder) until my skin turned wrinkly, but it was good. It was a dream come true, kind of good.
How awesome was the Ganesha tap! I was conflicted about using it for its actual purpose or praying in front of it. I ended up brushing my teeth in the shower instead. And you know who would love it in my family? Everyone! I considered getting it, but with a budget flight ticket and just enough dollars to visit Angkor Wat, try the happy pizza, and eat all those delicious Khmer foods, maybe next time?
The Three Room D’Angkor Boutique Villa has everything I wanted from a room, including a big glass door and windows. Here, I spent my mornings soaking in sunshine while lazing around like a cat.
And the swimming pool was right in front of our room door. Since there were no other guests during that time (we went in the summer, which was close to a suicide mission), it was like having our private pool.
To top it all off, the staff’s hospitality was excellent. They offered us cold drinks whenever we returned to our rooms, made reservations, and booked tuk-tuks for us. The one time we went out twice before nighttime in one day, they cleaned our room twice. As a boutique hotel advocate, I highly recommend Three Room D’Angkor Boutique Villa. Check it out yourself when you visit Siem Reap.
