Pre-lockdown Congee in Dumbo West Footscray

I am writing in Dumbo coffee shop this winter morning, so crisp since we are in the thick of winter. I am still wearing my beanie and Fafa’s black puffer jacket even though I am seated inside.

It had a making of a miserable day, but in front of me was a bowl of congee ━ even sans the steam, it looks every bit of deliciousness.

As the menu says: (a beautiful bowl of) lemongrass ginger congee, pork belly, shiitake mushroom, onsen egg, Asian veggie and chilli oil ━ with an additional chilli on the side.

They are enforcing another lockdown starting tomorrow ━ lockdown no 5, and I am nursing the worst lockdown-freedom hangover ever. Is this it? Are there going to be more? How long can I do this for? Can I even do this again?
