Things I Want to Do When We Are Back in Melbourne

3 mins read

Here are the things I want to do once we are back at home in Melbourne:

1) Getting Bare

I’ve been wearing a bra every single day for more than three weeks, and I am so ready for a braless and barefoot weekend.

2) Eat Nasi Padang

This one is more of Fafa’s thing. If he could, he would drive to get it the moment we land, and I’d be so on board. But since we’re arriving on a Saturday night, Nasi Padang will have to wait until tomorrow afternoon.

3) Or… Buldak Ramen

Tonight, I’m having Buldak ramen. I’ve been craving the 2x Spicy Stew Buldak Ramen more than anything else on this trip. I think it’s because I’ve been getting my rice fix regularly—thanks to the abundance of Asian restaurants in Europe these days. Also, I’ve been binge-watching Raamen’s YouTube Shorts, which hasn’t helped.

4) Be in Bed for 24 Hours

Travelling back to Australia is never fun—it’s too far (from everywhere), and jet lag is always a pain in the ass. At this point, it’s tradition: I must rot in bed for 24 hours, binge-watching every horror movie I can get my hand on, while Fafa jumps straight back into his weekend routine like nothing happened. The man is a machine post-travel. Meanwhile, I am a dead chicken.

5) Add a step to my El Camino bracelet

I don’t do this for every single trip, but this one is special. It’s our milestone-age trip, and it’s the first time I’ve been to Europe with Fafa. I want to commemorate it with a charm—since I already have the Scandi region step from my trip to Denmark with Jik years ago, I might go with a sea step this time, just because.

6) “Finalize” My Travel Journal

Now that the trip is over, I want to complete the journal. This weekend (or maybe next) will be spent sticking in ephemera, adding more notes and comments, pasting photos, and finally taking a picture of all the pages to digitize it.
