Here is a quick Jakarta to-do list, which I shared with my girlfriends and now with you guys:
- Go to the spa and get pampered with a massage.
- Visit Monas (our Eiffel Tower) and take pictures with it, as well as the presidential palace, and enjoy the many street food options nearby.
- Explore Kemang, where you’ll find plenty of cool restaurants. You’ll love this area, but be sure to Google the addresses and types of cuisine before you go.
- Explore the many malls we have. My personal favourite is Grand Indonesia Mall. You can dine at the fancy food court, try local dishes, and catch a movie in the Golden Class for $18.
- Head to Sabang for a street food dinner and Jalan Jaksa (nearby) for cheap drinks.
- Check out some museums in the city, but please verify their opening hours before you go.
- Visit Ambassador Mall for affordable clothes and fake bags. They also sell pirated DVDs for $1 each.
- Consider a trip to Bandung, a city two hours from Jakarta. It offers stunning scenery and fantastic places for lunch or dinner.
- If we know each other in real life, you are invited to a meal at my parents’.
