Hong Kong Kulture Kween

I explored Hong Kong with my bestie. We both wanted to travel somewhere, just the two of us, especially since we soon parted ways (for a while). Hong Kong came up, and Hong Kong it was. We ate countless pineapple buns, took shots in Lan Kwai Fong, and visited both Ocean Park and Disneyland. Jik, I am looking forward to our travel next year. How about the Great Barrier Reef? We shall do the β€œyou jump, I jump” reenactment.

I went to a cat cafe and tried to befriend the cats that, in return, ignored me completely.

This month I:

  • Had so much fun playing #radicalselflovejuly on Instagram.
  • Slept on the floor while being a thousand miles from home.
  • Participated in a minimalism game and got rid of a lot of personal stuff. I downsized so much until I mistakenly gave my only formal pants to Goodwill, but all is good. And lighter.
  • Had my fifteen minutes of fame.
  • Went to Hong Kong with my BFF and couldn’t stop talking about it.

πŸ”– ━ A sunken city in China, famously called Atlantis of the East, Shicheng is well preserved. The pictures of it are breathtaking, but I am not sure whether I am brave enough to dive that deep, though πŸ”– I have become a short hair advocate because short hair = awesome sauce πŸ”– Have you heard of the Bechdel test before? I was surprised the last Harry Potter movie didn’t make the cut. πŸ™ I am also interested to see whether I can adapt it to real life. Like, whether my girlfriends and I could have a conversation in one sitting without mentioning any man at all πŸ”– Xandra, one of my favourite bloggers, started a new project Heroine In Training. It will empower us to be heroines in our own lives. Check out the first lesson about keeping a personal journal, which has become my mid-year resolution. πŸ”– Nail polish VENDING MACHINE. I die! πŸ”– You know how much I love Disneyland (I mentioned it here, here, and here) including, especially the gift shop. If you are like me and you need your Mickey fix, check out this store, or better yet check out the omgsocuteineedtogetitnow Minnie bag. I could hear Monica’s voice “I’ll wear it all the time” πŸ”– World’s coolest bookstores. I regret skipping the one in the Netherlands πŸ”– Travel milestones. Which one have you crossed off? πŸ”– Best writing advice ever.

Thank You, Next!

  • I am planning to write a shorter (but frequent) post, which I named Silly Snippet.
  • I might go on an epic journey if the visa thing works out.
  • I’m going to find out where I can get and eat Hyderabadi biryani here in Singapore (It’s now become an unfulfilled obsession). Local friends, any suggestions?
  • Making big changes.
